About

Meet Sylvia Blanco

Artist. Creative partner. The person behind Blanco Art.

I'm Sylvia Blanco, a Houston muralist and artist. For more than a decade I've painted for businesses, cities, events, homes, and my own studio.

Some clients come to me with a clear concept, and I help make it stronger. Others come with only a wall and a feeling, and I create the idea from scratch. Either way, you get my eye, my ideas, and my hands on the work.

01Story

10+ years

More Than 10 Years of Making Ideas Real

Sylvia has been a self-employed professional artist for more than 10 years, building Blanco Art one project, one client, and one opportunity at a time.

Over the years, that work has taken many forms.

She has created for commercial spaces, restaurants, apartment communities, public projects, corporate events, residential clients, and private commissions, with experience that includes work for organizations such as:

Houston Grand Opera • Houston Astros • Houston Texans • Shell

But behind that range is a consistent approach:

Listen first. Bring ideas to the table. Then make it real.

02Philosophy

Bring an Idea, or Just a Feeling

Sylvia has her own artistic voice. She brings it to every project, shaped around the client instead of forced onto them.

Often, the people who come to Blanco Art already have something in mind.

Maybe it's a specific concept.

Maybe it's a story their space needs to tell.

Maybe they only know how they want people to feel when they see it.

Sylvia's job is to understand that starting point, then add what only she can: the concept, the composition, the color and the story. And if there's no starting point yet, she creates one. The result is artwork that feels right for the client, the space, and the purpose behind it.

That's what makes every Blanco Art project different.

03Two Sides of the Artist

2 perspectives

One Artist. Two Creative Perspectives.

There are two sides to Sylvia's work.

Creating for Others

Some Blanco Art projects begin with a client's concept. Many begin with Sylvia's.

Businesses, organizations, cities, event producers, and private clients bring Sylvia a space, a goal, or an idea, and she develops the creative concept and turns it into artwork that lives in a real space and serves a real purpose.

It's collaborative creativity—and it's the foundation on which Sylvia has built her business.

Creating for Herself

Then there's Sylvia's personal work.

Her surrealist, contemporary, canvas, and portrait work gives her the freedom to explore ideas from her own perspective rather than through a client's brief.

The subject and starting point may change, but both sides are part of Blanco Art.

04Experience

Creativity Backed by Experience

Great artwork matters.

But when you're commissioning work for a business, organization, public space, or event, so does knowing how to turn an idea into a finished project.

More than a decade of professional work has taught Sylvia how to consider not only the artwork itself, but also the realities surrounding it—from the physical space and project scope to scheduling, equipment, additional artists, and execution.

For larger projects, Sylvia can also collaborate with other artists when additional support is needed.

The result is a creative process built for more than making something beautiful.

It's built for getting the work done.

You don't need a finished concept before starting the conversation.
